School Partners

The eduWeavers School-to-School Partnership Program offers its schools unique benefits. The program currently consists of three formalized levels of partnership engagement: Colleague, Collaborator, and Partner. The following describes the process used by eduWeavers consultants to form and then foster the ongoing development of these partnerships.

First, eduWeavers consultants and prospective partner schools evaluate the school's globalization, partnership, and curriculum enhancement goals to help schools determine their readiness and appropriateness for entering into an eduWeavers school-to-school partnership. The prospective partner school evaluation methodology used by eduWeavers consultants consists of employing the following techniques:

  • Community brainstorming
  • Facilitated discussion forum
  • Formal self-evaluation questionnaires based upon insights gained from brainstorming and discussion sessions
  • Personal interviews
  • Feedback sessions to appropriate school/community members

Once eduWeavers consultants have facilitated the successful completion of a school's self-evaluation and have confirmed the school's readiness, these consultants will then form a school-to-school partnership that has the greatest chance of being successful through meeting each of the school's goals and criteria. As part of this self-evaluation process, eduWeavers consultants help schools evaluate how quickly and to what level of depth the schools would like to grow their partnerships over time.

eduWeavers School-to-School Partnership Commitment Levels

Following is an overview description of the three levels of school-to-school partnership at which two (or more) schools can commit to participate.

Level I : Colleague

  • Curriculum: School-to-school partners at this level have worked collaboratively on a single project at a particular grade level
  • Community: Community involvement in this partnership has involved students and teachers
  • Reciprocal Learning: Reciprocal learning has occurred, though it has been minimal
  • Philanthropy: Philanthropic giving may or may not have been a minor element of this partnership
  • Communication: Communication between the partner schools has occurred online, sporadically

Level II: Collaborator

  • Curriculum: School-to-school partners at this level have worked collaboratively on multiple projects at several grade levels
  • Community: Community involvement in this partnership has actively involved students, teachers, and administrators
  • Reciprocal Learning: Reciprocal learning has occurred significantly on at least one of the collaborative projects
  • Philanthropy: Philanthropic giving may or may not have been an important element of this partnership
  • Communication: Communication between the partner schools has occurred online, frequently, on at least one of the collaborative projects

Level III: Partner

  • Curriculum: School-to-school partners at this level have worked collaboratively on multiple projects across virtually all grade levels of each of the schools
  • Community: Community involvement in this partnership has actively involved students, teachers, administrators, and parents - virtually, the entire community has been actively involved in growing the partnership
  • Reciprocal Learning: Reciprocal learning has occurred significantly on each of the collaborative projects
  • Philanthropy: Philanthropic giving may or may not have been a critical element for multiple aspects of this partnership
  • Communication: Communication between the partner schools has occurred online, very frequently, on virtually all of the collaborative projects and face-to-face visits have occurred between the partner schools

Note: Over time and as appropriate, these levels may be modified to reflect the accurate nature of the various elements of the school-to-school partnerships as they develop in practice.
